August is here!

Barnabas was here this Sunday again. many of us who were not here the first time were so blessed by his sermon on the story of Joseph. The point of the sermon was that God often takes us on paths that make no sense. His ways are higher than our ways. The story of Joseph and many others in the bible illustrate God's unconventional ways to do things. The ultimate truth is that God is sovereign and He will have his way.
This sermon was a blessing to everyone and I can't imagine anyone not needing to hear it. We were so glad to have Barnabas, Justin (his wife), and baby Henry.

Worship was great. Leann Tidwell taught children's church. She talked about how chores are what God wants us to do. There are times when parents delegate chores to kids and that God delegates "chores" to parents. We all need to joyfully take on the tasks that God, parents, teachers or others give us.

We had a wonderful meal after. Lots of folks stayed around.

Later that evening, the deacons had a meeting and I hear we are getting our skylights tinted and new ceiling fans!! Yee Ha!

Also, a few folks showed up for our prayer walk. We met at the City Hall and prayed there for our town and it's leaders. We then traveled to the Munday Elementary school, football field, and High School to pray for the kids, staff, and the upcoming year.

We are planning on making these prayer walks regular events in Munday... The next one is planned for early October. All churches and individuals are welcome to please join us!

Kacy, thanks so much for doing the post. Sorry I missed the prayer downtown...I still had Trevor! I, too, am excited about the skylights and fans!

I sure missed being in church on Sunday. I have been out of town for several days and am ready to be home.
