Deacons are Commissioned this Sunday!

This past Sunday was a historical day in the life of our little chapel. After much prayer and consideration, our body elected deacons for the first time. We have added 8 able-bodied and God fearing men to our leadership. We believe that God is setting the foundation for a new era. We are praying that with these men, we will be able to share Jesus in even bigger ways.

Darrel Marion came over from Throckmorton to lead the dedication ceremony. He preached a great sermon on what being a leader means. He inspired us all with a challenge to seek God and follow His leading.

At the end, Darrel, Larry, and J. M. commissioned Trey Thompon, Todd Thompson, Shannon Waters, Doug Tidwell, Ruben Garcia, Bud Hogan, Danny Wainscott, and Wes Latham as our new deacons. Please pray for our leaders! Praise God for godly men in our midst!

Kacy, I think the celebration for W.O. is the 18th....we need to check. Deryl did an outstanding job as usual. I would like to hear "the rest of the sermon" that he had. I pray that we will all go forward sharing Jesus with our community. I agree that we don't need to go after people from other churches...we need to go to the lost of Knox County. There are lots of people who don't know our Savior. wilma

What a great list of young men! Notice I said "young", since many of them are my age! God is doing great things at BC!

Could you put this announcement as a post and/or email?

POWER LAB 2008 will be here next month!!! VBS is June 9-13 and we still haven't had any "training". So this Sunday at FBC from 1:30 - 3:00 we will get together and eat dessert, drink coffee, and acquaint ourselves with this year's VBS. We'll get to know the Bible Memory Buddies, the music, the Daily Bible Points, etc. You will have the chance to purchase your t-shirts and caps ($5 each) and we can brainstorm about this science theme that seems to baffle everyone!

I apologize for the last minute nature of this message. I admit, I'm behind this year - a lot more on my plate! Everyone can relate, I know. So the more we have there the more we can get accomplished. We've got some key spots that still need to be filled.

I so appreciate Believer's Chapel for your spirit and heart! You are a special family and I love spending time with you! Hope you can make it Sunday. And did I say dessert and coffee??!! :-)

oI plan on being there!

But knowing Jill and Tam, all attending will go away filled with the 'dessert' of the fulfilling of the Holy Spirit and a driving desire to feed it to the children of our community.

Come on girls...let's STUFF ourselves!
