This is the best time of the year in many repects...
The weather is nice, school is almost out, our yards are turning green...I love May is because it is usually a bit rainy, a bit stormy, but mostly perfect weather.
This past Sunday was refreshing at the chapel. In fact it was a fitting service for the first week in May. Kelly's children's church message challenged all of us to watch our words. Ouch! She shared about the power of the tongue and how it is like a fire that can spread and destroy. In a small town like ours, we all need to be reminded of the power of what we say...
Then, we sang. The praise and worship was lively, there were several new faces, and announcements were simple and sweet. Then, Wes gave a message that was anything but boring. He talked about idolatry and how our hearts are always finding something to worship besides God. His main point was that we can't see how AMAZING grace is, unless we first see how bad we all need it. It was a challenging and refreshing sermon. But, I'm his wife, so my opinion doesn't really count (haha). All in all, it was an eye-opening thought provoking and refreshing Sunday. And to top it all off-- we all enjoyed a wonderful meal together after church.
It's good to be a part of the family of God and a part of such a special congregation!

I can give an objective critique!!!
the message by Wes on Sunday really walked on my toes....I am going to suggest that the big guys don't ask him to preach again too soon so I can heal up a little. Seriously, the message was very thought provoking. He had so much material that I had a hard time taking notes. I think God really did mean it when he said, "Thou shalt have no other gods before me". Good job Wes. wilma
