Mattaw!!

Many of you may remember Bud and Kimberly Huffman from Kitale, Kenya. They are missionaries to Africa and are the founders of Mattaw Children's Village. We truly fell in love with them and their mission there, and because of that we are raising funds to build a new housing unit in the village. We will also be sending a group from the Chapel to Kenya next summer to build the house!! Our Chapel has pulled together and sent $2600 to help purchase the brick machine needed to build the bricks for the new house. We originally thought it would be around $15000 to build the house, but Bud recently informed us that the cost will be around $9000 due to the new brick machine. In an effort to raise the funds needed to build the house we are doing several fundraisers throughout the year. Our first is the 5K run/walk that will take place Homecoming weekend. The race will be on Saturday, Sept. 25 at 7:30am. Entry fee is $20 per entrant or $40 per family (limit 4). All entrants will receive a T Shirt and prizes will be awarded for the top runners for each catergory.
