One song we sang Sunday morning had these words:
"Blessed be your name when the sun is shining down on me
When the world is all as it should be...
Blessed be your name.
Blessed be your name on the road marked with suffering
Though there is pain in the offering
Blessed be your name."
These words capture very much what that day would hold...
Our Sunday morning service was great. We had a lot of old friends in town including two founding elders, Danny Kiser with his wife Ann and Danny Owens with his wife Pat. Keith Lamb from Kerrvile spoke and had us all on the edge of our seats as the talked about prophesy in the bible in relation to what is going on around the globe. It was very interesting and he left all of us wanting to hear more. We really enjoyed the worship, the kids, the fellowship and a packed sanctuary.
We all ran home for lunch and returned for our Celebration of W.O. W.O. Smith has been the pastor of our church for almost twenty years. Keith Lamb called him "faithful" and we agree. He has been that and so much more to all of us.
At three, the parking lot was filled with cars and folks from everywhere came to honor or dear pastor. There were people from all different churches and from other towns. There was a slideshow that gave us a visual trip down memory lane. Then several minister friends spoke including Darrel Marion, Brother Hodge, and Keith Lamb. Then others, Charles Baker, Wayne Smith (his brother), and Kenneth Baker, honored W. O. with a few words. It was a beautiful celebration. The church gave W.O. a new riding lawnmower last week and then Sunday he was presented with a scrapbook that took many many hours and lots of love to put together. A dozen or so women helped put it together, but Ronda really made it happen. Thanks Ronda.
Then as many of you know, the wreck happened during the party. You can click on the link below or visit prayfortreyandtyler.blogspot.com to find out more...

'And he said, “Naked I came from my mother's womb, and naked shall I return. The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord.” In all this Job did not sin or charge God with wrong.' -Job 1:21,22
