They are missionaries to Africa and are the founders of Mattaw Children's Village. We truly fell in love with them and their mission there, and because of that we are raising funds to build a new housing unit in the village. We will also be sending a group from the Chapel to Kenya next summer to build the house!! Our Chapel has pulled together and sent $2600 to help purchase the brick machine needed to build the bricks for the new house. We originally thought it would be around $15000 to build the house, but Bud recently informed us that the cost will be around $9000 due to the new brick machine. In an effort to raise the funds needed to build the house we are doing several fundraisers throughout the year. Our first is the 5K run/walk that will take place Homecoming weekend. The race will be on Saturday, Sept. 25 at 7:30am. Entry fee is $20 per entrant or $40 per family (limit 4). All entrants will receive a T Shirt and prizes will be awarded for the top runners for each catergory. Pre-registration can be done online @ www.thebelieverschapel.org or by calling Shannon at 940-203-1290. If you are interested in helping with the 5K please call Shannon or I and we will put you to work!

Heather

Exciting times!

There are so many exciting things taking place at the Chapel. We trust that that means there are exciting things happening in the hearts of those that worship at Believer's Chapel. God is obviously moving in His people. It is such a blessing to see people step up and step into the calling that He has for them. Our church is stepping out in faith, and as Hebrews 11:6 states, that without it (FAITH), it's impossible to please the Father. I want to please our Father in everything we do.
As I hope many of you know, we are embarking on a church-wide Sunday school program called, simply, "r12". It refers to the whole chapter of Romans 12. It's kinda of like the START HERE for the Christian life. Many of us Christians misunderstand that God isn't into religious activity or our performance, but what kind of relationship we have with HIM, and everything else around us. r12 will show us how to become a disciple of Christ and provide a proven pathway to become more like Jesus. Think how different things would be in our lives if we thought, responded and acted like Christ to everyone we came in contact with. It would be life-changing!! And that is what it has been for the few folks in our church that havc completd this study. One of our adult Sunday school classes just finished the study and suggested that it be implemented church wide. The leadership agreed, and so it will begin Sunday morning, Sept 5 at 9:30. The curriculum will include everyone from Pre-K to adults. Childcare WILL be provided for those not in a class. Please pray and plan to be there this Sunday morning with your whole family.
Heather

June 7, 2009

We were so glad to have Barnabas Chapman and his sweet little family minister to us again this past Sunday. The demand eventually turns into a right. This destroys our passion for God. We must allow God to take control of our heart.

2. Pride-James 4:1-7

Pride is our enemy and humility is our best friend. He delivered a great message about the resurrection. He brought out 3 main points to consider:

1. God desires to be in a relationship with us. He wants us to know him.
- God is committed. How committed am I?
- Relationship requires commitment.

2. God takes sin seriously.
- Wrath and love cannot be separated.

3. There will be a day of judgment.
-God says "not guilty" if we are living for Jesus.

Verses:
Acts: 17:22
Psalm 51:3,4
Romans 8:34

April 5, 2009

Announcements:

Easter Sunday, 4/12, we will skip classes and start regular church service at the Chapel at 10:00am. Trent lives in Throckmorton and recently started a “Church at the Bar” ministry.

Trent gave us food for thought as he discussed his ministry and the perspective gained from it. Trent challenged us to think about how we minister to others and spread the gospel. He challenged us to serve and teach others in the way that Jesus did rather than in our own comfort zone.

Trent left us with a very important question to ask ourselves, “What am I doing to seek and save what is lost?”

Thanks to Brother Wright

Much thanks to Paul Wright for ministering this past Sunday.
We enjoyed him and his beautiful family. Many folks were out of town but still it was a good crowd. We watched a video on Operation Christmas Child during children's church that reminded us all of the power of God to move through us in seemingly small acts. It was a tear-jerking thing that made me want to give more and more! It was great!

Shannon preached out of James expositing the word and sharing his testimony from the Power Team. It was great. He stepped on a few toes and encouraged us at the same time. And, I believe any great sermon does both. I loved it. We all love seeing the new faces each week. It doesn't take very many "visits" to feel totally at home around here because there is such a sweet friendly Spirit in the room.

Shannon Waters helped Kelly with Children's church by sharing about his first crusade with the Power Team. He read a testimony from a young single mom who was moved by his testimony in La Grange, TX. He also showed footage of himself breaking a bat and then he ripped a huge phone book in half for the kids... It was awesome.

Dusty Garrison from Abilene shared about the "Highway to Holiness" based on the scripture in Isaiah 35. He did an amazing job of covering a lot of wisdom and truth and yet it was very easy to follow and take to heart because he is such an excellent speaker. His words were powerful and I know everyone was touched... We had a new addition to the worship team in drummer Coby Decker. We may have to have a building program just to accomodate the worship team. I pray God is blessed by our worship. Psalms says God inhabits the praises of His people. The presence of the Lord was surly in our service on Sunday.

Wes Latham brought the message and he really gave us a lot of food for thought ie a bit of conviction. If you weren't convicted by this sermon you were either asleep or you need to check your heart.

Wes message was based on James 4:13-17
13 Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to such and such a city, spend a year there, buy and sell, and make a profit”; 14 whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away. 15 Instead you ought to say, “If the Lord wills, we shall live and do this or that.” 16 But now you boast in your arrogance. All such boasting is evil.
17 Therefore, to him who knows to do good and does not do it, to him it is sin.

Wes talked about dealing with surface issues when we need to deal with the root issues.
We have the delusion of Self Sovergnity:
1. First danger is putting ME in the center of my universe. Sin is more than outward. It is not Your Party. The Party that is coming is the Wedding Feast.
2. My goal in life is "making a profit, being successful instead of Christ. Matt.6:19
Prov. 6:6-7 "6But godliness with contentment is great gain. 7For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it.Godliness with contentment is great gain."
3.I cannot accept the "mystery" of life. I want more control. We must embrace His Soverignty even when we don't understand. Deu.29:29 "The secret things belong to the Lord." If I win I praise Him, If I lose I praise Him.
4. I forget eternity and live for today. Ps. 90:12 "So teach us to number our days,
That we may gain a heart of wisdom." Life is a vapor
5. I fail to live submissively and reject authority. It is an attitude of the heart.
Matt. 6:10 "your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven."
6. I desire praise of men, therefore I boast not in Christ but in me. Root is boasting in Me. Yea Me. John15:5 5"I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. We can do nothing apart from Christ the vine.

There is no difference in our arrogance or our self pit.
Arrogance is believing in my own strength which equals pride.
Self Pity is believing in my weakness which equals pride.

We had a good time of prayer and ministry after the service.

NOT BELIEVERS CHAPEL

I am sooo glad we don't have these kind of services:

Did you hear about the church service where the minister had a long dry sermon. We sang a few new songs and then some favorites like Shout to the Lord and We Bow Down... Good stuff...

Kelly gave the lesson for children's church and the Shannon Waters preached.

Shannon took the scripture from Revelations concerning luke warm Christians and "knocked it out of the park". He spoke with passion and personal conviction and challenged us to live passionately for God. He reminded us to pray, interceed, read our bibles and seek God first. Wow. There is not one person in the church, I believe, who did not need to hear this gentle rebuke and gracious reminder. Brothers and sisters, we are not to be riding the fence!

We pray for the Grace of God to renew us all with the Fire of the Holy Spirit...
Not to us, but for Your name Oh GOD...

This Sunday was another day that we were happy to be together in the presence of God.

We had a lot of folks gone to this weekend due to the Chrysalis and other events. We still had a large crowd and were happy to have lots of visitors.

Dusty Garrison preached this Sunday a message titled 'The Name of God'.

95% of Americans say that they believe in God. But what God are they believing in? What God are they looking for? What is His Name? Does He have a name?

Dusty Garrison opening text came from Exodus 3:13,14. He then began to expound on The Lord Is My Banner. We can look to Him as our victory and banner and find encouragement.

August is here!

Barnabas was here this Sunday again. many of us who were not here the first time were so blessed by his sermon on the story of Joseph. The point of the sermon was that God often takes us on paths that make no sense. His ways are higher than our ways. The story of Joseph and many others in the bible illustrate God's unconventional ways to do things. The ultimate truth is that God is sovereign and He will have his way.
This sermon was a blessing to everyone and I can't imagine anyone not needing to hear it. We were so glad to have Barnabas, Justin (his wife), and baby Henry.

Worship was great. Leann Tidwell taught children's church. She talked about how chores are what God wants us to do. There are times when parents delegate chores to kids and that God delegates "chores" to parents. We all need to joyfully take on the tasks that God, parents, teachers or others give us.

We had a wonderful meal after. Lots of folks stayed around.

Later that evening, the deacons had a meeting and I hear we are getting our skylights tinted and new ceiling fans!! Yee Ha!

Also, a few folks showed up for our prayer walk. We met at the City Hall and prayed there for our town and it's leaders. We then traveled to the Munday Elementary school, football field, and High School to pray for the kids, staff, and the upcoming year.

We are planning on making these prayer walks regular events in Munday... The next one is planned for early October. All churches and individuals are welcome to please join us!

This Sunday was another wonderful day to be together at the chapel. We had lots of new faces and lots of visitors who came to hear Bill Myers give his testimony. Bill is a long-time Munday resident who had his life radically changed after alcoholism and tragedy cost him almost everything he had including his marriage. He talked very candidly about his struggles and his mistakes and how different his life is since his life was changed by God. If you missed it and you know Bill Myers, strike up a conversation with him and ask him about it. He is a walking and breathing miracle.

What can I say? Worship, children's church, and everything was great this past Sunday...

Life Group was at Doug and Leann Tidwells this Sunday. We enjoyed fried fish, okra and the works. We also enjoyed a great discussion time. These meetings are knitting us together as a close family of brothers and sisters in Christ.

This coming Sunday there is a deacons meeting at 6 and a special event for all at 7pm... Stay tuned!

Watch this...

Could not pass this one by....

Darrell wuz here!

This past Sunday was a great day to be at church. In fact, if everyone had shown up, some of us might have had to sit on the floor! We had lots and lots of new faces and gillions of kiddos! Wow! Worship was great. We did the "turn around song" for Shannon who managed to do the motions while playing bass-- pretty nifty, huh.? If only Mike Hoard would have been there for me to harass. (Mike's not much of a "church dancer".)

Kevin Smith joined Rubin in the "Hard Rock corner" for the third Sunday in a row... It was awesome with everyone singing so loud. It is fun to sing to God with complete joy. I know that He is pleased when His "kids" enjoy Him.

Shannon lead the children's message. He demonstrated how we can trust God by using a large rat trap. It was really impressive. If you see Shannon, just ask for a recap. I am sure he keeps that thing in his pocket, next to his bendy frying pans, and cinder blocks.

Darrel and Kathy came over from Throckmorton and Darrel did his thing! I can not remember everything he said because (1) it was really good and he covered so much ground in just a few words (2) because Darrell didn't put on the mike thing so that I could hear him in the back while I rocked my 3 month old. So I could only try to guess how it ended. Yet, I know it was awesome because there was tears in the eyes of many of the members as they broke out of the giant prayer huddle at the end.

BTW:I am inviting anyone with a more detailed description to please let me post it!

Sunday night we had "Life Group" or "Home Cell" or "House Church" (which ever name suits ya)
at Trey and Ronda's house. Again, both my kids were asleep and I missed the first hour and a half, but when I got there everyone looked really full and relaxed so I guess the food was really good. Also the discussion that I did get to participate in was really good. This is the first time this group has met since the wreck in May... Ronda took pics and I hope to post them soon!

Sunday Sermon

Barnabus Chapman from Graham was our guest preacher this past Sunday. He gave a very insighful message on Romans 8:1-11. This is a familiar scripture for Christians and as he said we are guilty of just quoting parts of the verse...the part we like.

Romans 8:1-11

Free from Indwelling Sin
1 There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus,[a] who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. 2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death. 3 For what the law could not do in that it was weak through the flesh, God did by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, on account of sin: He condemned sin in the flesh, 4 that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. 5 For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. 6 For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. 7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be. 8 So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God.
9 But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His. 10 And if Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin, but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. 11 But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.

vs. 1 There is no condemnation if you walk in the Spirit. Condemnation is for those who are walking in the flesh. They are under condemnation. This is to make you realize your need for Christ.
vs. 2 We have a new law the law of The Spirit.
vs. 3 The old law (10 commandments) causes us to know we need a Savior but it was inadequate of save us.
vs.4 We cannot walk in the Spirit unlesss the Spirit abides in us.
vs.5 If your mind is focused on the flesh you will pursue the things of the flesh. You can know where your walking if you think about what your mind is focused on? Is it focused on money, finances, homes or are you focused on God. What is in your mind?
vs. 6 To be carnally minded is death but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
vs 8 Those walking in the flesh cannot please God.
vs. 10 If Christ lives in you ..you are dead to sin. Christ came to replace the old life of the flesh. It is a daily choice. We die daily.
vs.11 He gives life to our mortal bodies...or He gives the ability to walk in the Spirit.
Good News is Jesus came to give us life...to live in communion with God to live in the presence of God. We choose life or we choose death...(vs. 6 to be carnally minded is death)
Are you burdened by the cares of this world. God promised to always be with us. We can choose to walk with God in His Presence or walk in the Spirit. We should remind ourselves daily, The Spirit of God dwells in me. Using this illustration, Dusty assured us that there was nothing wrong with asking questions about our afflictions. He suggested that maybe we were asking the wrong question. He confirmed that most scholars thought that Job was probably the first book in the Bible to be written and therefore the story of Job was one of the first stories to be talked about. Although Job suffered immensely and was tested greatly, he chose not to curse God for his troubles.

Dusty provided six reasons for suffering:
1. Develop Faith (James 1:2)
2. Learn Obedience (John 9: 15) - even Jesus learned obedience through suffering (Heb. 5:8)
3. Suffering Reveals Our True Character (Roms 5:3) Dusty told a story of the refiner's fire and how the silver was heated to the point where it would show the reflection of the refiner when it is completely refined (Malachi).
4. To Expose Hidden Sin (Luke 15 and Deut. 8)
5. Keep Down Pride. (John 9:24-25, II Cor. 12)
6. "Who to blame" is the wrong question -- the right question is "Do you believe?" which is what Jesus asked Martha after Lazarus died. He is asking that same question of us -- "DO YOU TRUST ME?"

Dusty closed by reminding us that God is in us; he is in our hurts. He encouraged us to let others help us when we were hurting. If we ask God "Do you even care that I am hurting?" God's answer to us is that He does care, He will always care, and there will be a day when He will wipe away all of our tears until then God will continue to ask us, "Do you trust Me?".

Also, it was really good to have Larry and Cindy Thompson in church on Sunday. They have certainly been missed the past few weeks.

Our family was so blessed this morning to be back with our church family. We had a good show of folks but we missed a few due to Summer vacations. Jo Heard filled in for children's church. She used a quilt to illustrate how we can talk to God anytime all day--a good word for adults and kids alike!

We had a long list of prayer requests and the list will be updated soon...

Jesse and Merry from Abilene came to the chapel this morning. Jesse spoke on the Kingdom of God. He spoke about how God is huge and yet near. He used illustrations from the expanse of the universe down to the micro world of quarks to show how God is vast and that the Kingdom is God holding us together. The Kingdom is all around, it is invisible and yet visible. It was a great talk and very awe inspiring.

We really enjoyed them and hope to see them back again!

Remember, we are expanding this blog to include more information for better communication. A few people were gone this weekend but there were several new faces this week so it was a good crowd. J.M. gave the announcements and took prayer requests. Gilbert Flores, one of our members, lost his five year old son Trevor early this morning. We have no details but anyone wanting to take food can go to Gilbert's sister's house, Diana Flores, just a few blocks out on 7th ave near the methodist church. Please keep this family in your prayers

Shannon taught children's church and it was awesome. He did a scientific experiment/illustration to show how Jesus makes our sins go away. Shannon you are a natural and you should be Kelly's permanent back-up. We sang some good "older" worship songs today and it was really great in worship.

Wes preached a sermon about the "Two sons" of the Prodigal Son parable. He pointed out that both sons are Lost. One son is lost to the world and the other is lost in his own good-works.

It was a good Sunday. We missed a lot of faces yet we are standing with the members of our body who are struggling or hurting... Remember to pray for Tyler's throat.

prayer request

I just had a call from Cindy. Tyler's leg is swollen (the one that had the compound fracture) and they are ordering a doppler test to see what is going on. Please pray against anything that would postpone the last skin graft surgery that is scheduled for tomorrow.

Shannon Waters gave a wonderful message in church yesterday on faith and he and I discussed it during Bible School this morning. Over the past 3 weeks God just kept saying to me, "Faith, Faith, without faith you are wasting your prayers and effort". Shannon gave this scripture yesterday from Hebrews 11:6 "And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to Him must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him." I know we are all earnestly seeking God but do we have faith? Romans 10:17 says "Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message and the message is heard through the word of Christ (or God)". That my friends is the Bible. We have to get into the Word of God to hear what the Spirit is saying and telling us how to pray or we are wasting our time. Lets pray believing that God by His Spirit is touching Tyler's leg now and healing it by faith! In fact, Calvin from Indiana sang an original song that he wrote. He blessed us all with a message of encouragement and hope. We look forward to the harvesters coming each year. We love to see new faces around. We all brought extra food hoping they would stay for lunch.

The biggest blessing of all was having Trey and his family in church. It was a testimony of God's ability to work miracles.

FEAR NO EVIL... Sunday Review

We spent time this Sunday discussing the accident and how to deal with fear. Shannon gave the message and it was very encouraging. Shannon asked all our fire department members to come up to the altar. All 4 came and knelt while the church prayed. We prayed for Trey, Tyler, Keith and all involved in the tragic events last week. We closed with communion.

3PM we had the nursing home services. We sang many old favorites, had a message on how Jesus is the ultimate hero from the greatest accident. The service ended in a prayer for Tyler and Trey. They had many questions about the accident and the Thompsons.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://believerschapel.blogspot.com/2008/05/fear-no-evilfear-god.html' title='FEAR NO EVIL... We had a lot of old friends in town including two founding elders, Danny Kiser with his wife Ann and Danny Owens with his wife Pat. Keith Lamb from Kerrvile spoke and had us all on the edge of our seats as the talked about prophesy in the bible in relation to what is going on around the globe. It was very interesting and he left all of us wanting to hear more. We really enjoyed the worship, the kids, the fellowship and a packed sanctuary.

We all ran home for lunch and returned for our Celebration of W.O. W.O. Smith has been the pastor of our church for almost twenty years. Keith Lamb called him "faithful" and we agree. He has been that and so much more to all of us.

At three, the parking lot was filled with cars and folks from everywhere came to honor or dear pastor. There were people from all different churches and from other towns. There was a slideshow that gave us a visual trip down memory lane. Then several minister friends spoke including Darrel Marion, Brother Hodge, and Keith Lamb. Then others, Charles Baker, Wayne Smith (his brother), and Kenneth Baker, honored W. O. with a few words. It was a beautiful celebration. The church gave W.O. a new riding lawnmower last week and then Sunday he was presented with a scrapbook that took many many hours and lots of love to put together. A dozen or so women helped put it together, but Ronda really made it happen. Thanks Ronda.

Then as many of you know, the wreck happened during the party. In fact it was a fitting service for the first week in May. Kelly's children's church message challenged all of us to watch our words. Ouch! She shared about the power of the tongue and how it is like a fire that can spread and destroy. In a small town like ours, we all need to be reminded of the power of what we say...

Then, we sang. The praise and worship was lively, there were several new faces, and announcements were simple and sweet. Then, Wes gave a message that was anything but boring. He talked about idolatry and how our hearts are always finding something to worship besides God. His main point was that we can't see how AMAZING grace is, unless we first see how bad we all need it. It was a challenging and refreshing sermon. But, I'm his wife, so my opinion doesn't really count (haha). All in all, it was an eye-opening thought provoking and refreshing Sunday. And to top it all off-- we all enjoyed a wonderful meal together after church.

It's good to be a part of the family of God and a part of such a special congregation!

Deacons are Commissioned this Sunday!

This past Sunday was a historical day in the life of our little chapel. After much prayer and consideration, our body elected deacons for the first time. We have added 8 able-bodied and God fearing men to our leadership. We believe that God is setting the foundation for a new era. We are praying that with these men, we will be able to share Jesus in even bigger ways.

Darrel Marion came over from Throckmorton to lead the dedication ceremony. He preached a great sermon on what being a leader means. He inspired us all with a challenge to seek God and follow His leading.

At the end, Darrel, Larry, and J. M. commissioned Trey Thompon, Todd Thompson, Shannon Waters, Doug Tidwell, Ruben Garcia, Bud Hogan, Danny Wainscott, and Wes Latham as our new deacons. Please pray for our leaders! As he thought about his life this day, he knew many things were not right. He thought about those who had lied about him back when he had a job.

His thoughts turned to those who had stolen his things and cheated him. He remembered family that had passed on. His mind turned to the illness he had that no one could cure. His very soul was filled with anger, resentment and frustration.

Standing there this day, searching for answers he could not find, knowing all else had failed him, he knelt at the base of an old oak tree to seek the one he knew would always be there. And with tears in his eyes, he prayed:
'Lord- You have done wonderful things for me in this life. You have told me to do many things for you, and I happily obeyed. Today, you have told me to forgive. I am sad, Lord, because I cannot. I don't know how. It is not fair Lord. I didn't deserve these wrongs that were done against me and I shouldn't have to forgive. As perfect as your way is Lord, this one thing I cannot do, for I don't know how to forgive. My anger is so deep Lord, I fear I may not hear you, but I pray that you teach me to do this one thing I cannot do - Teach me To Forgive'

As he knelt there in the quiet shade of that old oak tree, he felt something fall onto his shoulder. He opened his eyes. Out of the corner of one eye, he saw something red on his shirt. He could not turn to see what it was because where the oak tree had been was a large square piece of wood in the ground . He raised his head and saw two feet held to the wood with a large spike through them.

He raised his head more, and tears came to his eyes as he saw Jesus hanging on a cross. He saw spikes in His hands, a gash in His side, a torn and battered body, deep thorns sunk into His head. Finally he saw the suffering and pain on His precious face As their eyes met, the man's tears turned to sobbing, and Jesus began to speak.
'Have you ever told a lie?' He asked?

The man answered - 'yes, Lord.'

'Have you ever been given too much change and kept it?'

The man answered - ' yes. Lord.' And the man sobbed more and more.

'Have you ever taken something from work that wasn't yours?'Jesus asked?
And the man answered - 'yes, Lord.'

'Have you ever sworn, using my Father's name in vain? '

The man, crying now, answered - 'yes, Lord.'

As Jesus asked many more times, 'Have you ever'? The man's crying became uncontrollable, for he could only answer - 'yes, Lord.'

Then Jesus turned His head from one side to the other, and the man felt something fall on his other shoulder. He looked and saw that it was the blood of Jesus. When he looked back up, his eyes met those of Jesus, and there was a look of love the man had never seen or known before.

Jesus said, 'I didn't deserve this either, but I forgive you.'

An Easter Reminder

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/__a019XN6ONM/R9_xhsfwByI/AAAAAAAABks/FueBFDiAOjk/s320/lamb+cross.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5179123657681667874" />

Easter Sunday we will have lunch for those who would like to come and share who do not have someone to share the day with. It was Palm Sunday and there was a full house at the church. I missed the first part but my others filled me in on what I missed.

After a brief set of announcements and children's church. Wes, Rueben, Shannon, and Kelly led the music. After a few songs, several people spoke up and shared words of encouragement and gave some testimonies. It is in these spontaneous moments that we all become aware of how special our chapel is. It is a blessing that we can stop and take time to think, listen and share our hearts.

W.O.preached a good sermon on believing and what it means to do the impossible. He had several interesting stories and anecdotes to press the point. W.O., always the tenderhearted, spoke with passion and conviction and I am sure that everyone was touched in some way.

We dismissed remembering that next week is the Big Week. Easter is always a big deal at the chapel--standing room only. We share communion, we have a powerful service and "blossom the cross". Check back next week because I hope to have an Easter service recap and photos of all the families in their Easter duds.

Blessings...

Great Article from Chirstianity Today

This article is titled, "Our Ears Still Itch"

<img style="float:left; About 30 years ago a home-based prayer and bible study group began meeting in search of a deeper walk with Jesus. The Holy Spirit then birthed a small congregation of families that soon grew attracting families from all over the area. The Chapel was built a few years later and is going strong with lots of young couples, singles, faithful older members and best of all, a bumper crop of kids!

This Blog is for our families and friends who want to keep up with what is going on at the chapel. Please bookmark this page and check back here for information on services, special events, and so forth...

And, if you want to send a post in to put on the blog; a testimony, a praise report, or something you want to share. Just email me!
